In talking with a friend about this page, I realized I should probably let you a bit on why I am working on this, and why I think you should spend your time here at Patient C.
(First off, while I will mainly post about health, disability, and my personal experiences regarding these things; I also will likely post on anything else that grabs my eye -- pop culture, geekdom, gaming, feminism, racism, social justice, addiction & dependency, and assorted other things.)
In the past few years, a lot of issues have come up in my life, as I learn to deal with lupus, fibro, spinal issues, nerve issues and a handful of less impactful ailments. I take a number of prescription and OTC drugs which have changed over the years and will continue to do so. My disabilities are sometimes invisible (no aids), semi-visible (cane days), or completely, unavoidably visible (wheelchair days).
I am a wife, a girlfriend, a mother, a geek, a near-middle-aged, white, bisexual, disabled, cis-gendered, raised poor female. I am a bitch. I have a harsh sense of humor at times. I enjoy learning and discussing ideas, but have a very low tolerance for bullshit. I am a Shambhala Buddhist. I am recently a non-smoker.
